MANGAL SPONGE & STEEL PVT. LTD., is standalone sponge iron company having its DRI Rotary Kiln 2 x 100 TPD & 2 x 50 TPD at Bilha, Bilaspur, Chattisgarh. This company placed an order for one Gasifier for 100TPD DRI Kiln in month of September 2014. The plant was delivered and commissioned in the end of January 2015. The result of gasifier installation is shown under in a tabular form which is self-explanatory.
The organization is now contemplating to use CASE Gasifiers with remaining Kilns.
Bhagwati Sponge (P) Ltd., is an integrated steel plant company having its DRI Rotary Kiln 2 x 100 TPD at Jamuria, West Bengal. This company took a bold decision and happens to be first organization to install CASE Gasifier for its Rotary Kiln.
The order was placed in month of August 2014 and the plant was delivered and commissioned in the end of December 2014. Such was the result that the management of the company decided to place another order of the gasifier in the month of March 2015. This gasifier was also delivered and erected and should be commissioned by the end of May 2015. The result of gasifier installation is shown under in a tabular form which is self-explanatory.
CASE Group of Industries has announced the launch of Pyrolysis Clean Gas Station within its global market. Pyrolysis gasifier offers high gas heat value, high heat efficiency and tar recovery. It can replace 100 % natural gas keeping the same kind of automation. “Compared with single stage gasifier and double stage gasifier, pyrolysis gasifier can be differentiated in terms of high gas heat value, high heat efficiency and tar recovery. Complete gasification takes places which results in more production of gasified gas”-says Mr. Roger Kumar, Managing Director of CASE Group in India.
Pyrolysis Clean Gas Station has been designed to carbonize coal at low temperature in the pyrolysis section of the gasifier. The process leads to the production of tar which is characterized by low viscosity and high fluidity. Also, the tar produced is so light that they do not choke the transporting ducts.

Since 1993, CASE has successfully erected and commissioned around 300 Crude Gas Stations. As of now, the Group is poised to cross another milestone- the ‘Clean Gas Station’. With adequate gasification expertise, the company is now matured to offer ‘Clean Coal Gas Stations’ which can replace 100 % natural gas keeping the same kind of automation.
At the press conference, Mr. Rahuel George, Country Head of CASE Group mentioned, “Pyrolysis coal gasifier allows the use of both bituminous coal and anthracite coal as the raw material. Therefore, there should not be any shortage of feeding material during the manufacturing process. Besides, such kind of gasifier involves small investment and minimal construction period.”
He further added, “We are now working for our client- ‘Modern Insulators Limited’. The plant is located in Abu Road, Sirohi, Rajasthan. The commissioning of the clean gas station is due by September 2014.
Another panache for us CASians. Pyrolysis Ultra Clean technology which was much appreciated and accepted by M/S Modern Insulators Limited, Rajasthan has also been acknowledged and approved by Hindustan Vidyut Limited for their Insulator Manufacturing plant situated at Bhopal.
Both MIL and IEC have been using alternate fuels like LNG, Propane etc for the heat treatment of Insulators. The excessive costs of these fuels guided them to look for alternate energy solutions. Their search ended at the sight of the Pyrolysis Ultra Clean Gasification technology.
Today the project at IEC is at the final stages of execution and commissioning and trials begin from June 2015 onwards. Another historic event in the making….
After successful replacement of the use of furnace oil by producer gas for reheating billets and ingots, CASE Group then decided to try CASE gasification technology in the forging process. With the group expertise, the company then took a step towards introducing Coal Gasifier for heating of billets and ingots in small forging units.
An initial technical studies by CASE Group experts indicated that the producer gas can be used to heat ingots and billets in box furnaces.
The re rolling, as the name suggests, is a process, where in, the heated ingots and billets go between series of hard rollers, which are assembled in a stand, known as Mill Stand. The shape of product produced in re rolling process is defined by the grooves and stand.
On the other hand, forging is a process where in the raw materials are treated under hammers and specific dies to produce final shape of the product, as desired.
The metallurgical and mechanical properties of the billets and ingots, more or less, remain the same in both the re rolling and forging process. Hence, it has been decided to use the Gasifier for the forging units.
In order to help forging industries deliver the best of quality products at the most economical rate, CASE Group approached the industries toward providing Gasifiers with unique technical specifications catering to the forging industries. CASE Coal Gasifiers are capable of generating considerable amount of gas for combustion. It is for the first time in India, that coal gas is being used in the heating of the ingots for the forging process.
Considering the benefits of using Coal Gasifier for forging, Mr. Yash Bhandari, a young director of the Yash Forgings Pvt Ltd at Nagpur in Maharashtra eagerly agreed to install CASE Gasifier at his unit. The installation following commissioning of gasifieras been done and is running successfully on site.
2x3.6 M and 2x 3.2 M Gasifiers for heavy blooms commissioned at SANVIJAY ROLLING & ENGINEERING LIMITED, at Butibori Industrial Area, Nagpur.
Both the rolling mills roll out heavy structures and the bloom size varies from 200 mm x 200 m to 300 mm x 400 mm size. CASE Coal Gasifiers has replaced 100% furnace oil. Sanvijay today has seven CASE Gasifiers and have replace 100% furnace oil for all their Rolling mills completely.
